Welcome to the Feast of the Senses!

Are you craving a chance to connect with yourself and others in a supportive and rejuvenating environment? Start a love affair with your body and its wisdom? Expand your relationship to pleasure outside of a sexual context?

Join us for the Feast of the Senses Retreat from June 22-26, 2023, in the Sierra Foothills of California.

In this immersive and intimate experience, you’ll get to indulge in a variety of activities designed to engage your senses, expand your self-love, and deepen the connection between your mind and body’s wisdom. From nutritious meals and movement classes to self-exploration workshops and nature walks, we’ve carefully curated a program that will leave you feeling recharged and reconnected with yourself.

This intimate retreat is facilitated by Marcia Baczynski and Angi Love, passionate advocates for self-love, embodiment and personal agency.

Here’s what we will be doing…

Body Love Yoga: This gentle and inclusive practice is designed to help you cultivate a positive relationship with your body, build self-confidence and self-love practices.

The Three-Minute Game: In this profound workshop, you’ll learn how to take apart giving and receiving, so that you can discern exactly what you want, and precisely where your limits are.

Joyful Movement: Stretch. Dance. Relax. Optional share. This is a safe space to make sound, to move the body, to feel sensual and to come from a place of love for our body.

F*ck Yes: Asking For What You Want: We’ll unravel the murky & mysterious issues around desire, intimacy & communication, so you can be clear and confident communicating what your body desires.

Sensual Self-massage: This is a relaxing and enjoyable way to connect with your body and cultivate a sense of self-love and appreciation.

The Feast of the Senses Dinner: Join us for a special meal that celebrates all of your senses! This interactive dining experience allows you to indulge in flavor and texture.

Daily Journal Prompts, Games and Practices: We believe that practicing body love and agency ought to be spacious, connected and playful. Each day you’ll have a chance to practice with others and yourself, in ways that are joyful and fun.

Located in a stunning natural setting in the rustic town of Alta CA, our retreat house offers all the amenities you’ll need to relax and unwind. Take a dip in the pool, go for a walk around the nearby lake or just curl up with a good book in one of our cozy common areas. There will be plenty of time for resting, relaxing and self-reflection in between our sessions.

Meet Your Facilitators!

Angi Love: love warrior, empathy ranger, self-love advocate, ecstatic dancer and mindful chef

Angi has a deep focus on mindfulness and moving (and somatic experiencing) from a place of self love. She encourages her students to get in touch with their bodies and to love what their bodies are capable of, even when we don’t feel strong or lovable. She calls her classes BodyLove yoga since loving where we are at is always a journey, not a destination. She has been teaching all size yoga since 2016, and has also been doing bodywork since 2008. For the past 4 years the emphasis has moved toward craniosacral work and how to calm the nervous system to embrace deeper healing.

Marcia Baczynski: wild permission-giver with a penchant for the practical and the playful

Marcia is an internationally-recognized coach, facilitator and writer on sexual communication, boundaries, consent and desire. Her primary mission is to help adults who want more connection and intimacy to overcome shame and get in touch with what they truly want – romantically, sexually and relationally – even if it’s off the beaten path.

Known for her sharp, practical online skills courses and her interpersonal and somatically-grounded in-person classes and retreats, Marcia brings wisdom, humor, and creativity to all aspects of her work, and offers a fresh perspective on love, sex and relationships. In 2022, the book she co-authored, Creating Consent Culture: A Handbook for Educators,” was released, a culmination of nearly 20 decades of work, during which Marcia has worked with thousands of people.

Space is limited to only 14 people. Scoop up your spot today!

Your Questions, Answered

When and where is it?

Feast of the Senses will be held June 22-26, 2023 at a Bed and Breakfast in Alta, CA.

What happens after I put in my deposit?

Once you pay your deposit, you have reserved your spot in the retreat. You will receive an email within a few minutes linking to a short “Configure My Accommodations” form asking you some important questions about your lodging options and other needs. Please fill out the form as quickly as possible so you are more likely to get your room preference. We will assign rooms within 2 weeks of your registration, and you will get a second email with the final payment link, or payment plan (as needed), based on the room you are assigned. We will do our best to match you with your preferences, but exact rooms are not guaranteed.

In early June, you’ll get another email with a link to a “Tell Us About You” form, which will help us curate the food and overall experience to your needs and preferences. Finally, about a week before the retreat, you’ll receive an email with directions to our retreat spot, a detailed packing list and other information to help make your experience with us extraordinary.

Can I pay on a payment plan?

Yes! You will have the option to select “pay in full” or “payment plan” in the “Configure My Accommodations” form. When we email you with your accommodation information, you’ll get a custom payment link based on your request.

What’s the gender policy? Is this for women only?

The “Feast of the Senses” retreat is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all attendees, regardless of gender identity or expression. We welcome attendees of all genders and encourage everyone to respect and support one another.

At the same time, we recognize that femmes (women, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming individuals who are impacted by misogyny) often face unique challenges and discrimination in society, and we want to prioritize creating a supportive environment for femmes at our retreat.

We ask that all attendees be mindful of the impact of their words and actions on others, and strive to create a respectful and supportive atmosphere for all.

Can couples attend together?

Yes, couples of any orientation are welcome to attend the “Feast of the Senses” retreat together. However, please note that the focus of the retreat is on developing a relationship with oneself, rather than with a partner. We believe that self-care and personal growth can have a positive impact on relationships, and the activities and classes offered at the retreat are designed to support individual growth rather than couples work.

What’s the COVID policy?

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, the health and safety of our participants is our top priority. While we don’t know exactly what measures will be necessary at the time of the retreat, we are committed to following all relevant guidelines and recommendations to ensure the safety of our community.

Currently, we are planning to implement the following precautions:

  • We will be hosting a Community Care call one week before the retreat to create group agreements and address any concerns that arise.
  • All attendees will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid test taken at the beginning of the retreat.
  • Air filters and ventilation will be prioritized in the our retreat space.
  • If you test positive for COVID the day of arrival, we will transfer your registration as a credit to a future event and be sad that you can’t join us.

We will continue to monitor the situation and may make additional changes as needed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our community safe.

What’s the cancellation policy?

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes you may need to cancel your retreat registration. If you need to cancel your registration for the “Feast of the Senses” retreat, please notify us in writing as soon as possible.
